Job Summary, Duties & Responsibilities, Qualifications
Summary:
The delivery driver will work with other members of the BiRite Family of Business team to increase company profitability and customer satisfaction by delivering complete, accurate and on-time deliveries to the company’s locations. The driver will represent the company in a highly professional, safe and cost-effective manner that complies with DOT and other applicable regulations. Kitchen experience a plus.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers
• Inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventive maintenance in mind, fills out weekly check list to insure safety of vehicle, notifies manager of any problems or accidents immediately
• Deliver orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers’ needs
• Maintain communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received
• Document delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives and report any discrepancies to company
• Increase customer satisfaction by collecting information, feedback on service and resolving complaints per company policy; communicate information back to manager
• Maintain and monitor truck maintenance and driving record requirements, and maintain required documents for safety, security and quality processes
• Update job knowledge
• Maintain a safe driving record free of violations
• Perform kitchen duties as assigned by Commissary Chef
• Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required

Use of machinery including, but not limited to, delivery truck, dollies, ovens, fryers, stoves, espresso machine, coffee maker, meat slicers, cash registers, computers, printers and other office equipment.
Driving Requirements: Must be able to safely navigate and park a refrigerated box truck up to eighteen feet (18 ft.) in length in a tight urban environment, operate the refrigeration system properly to insure proper temperatures for product safety and quality, safely operate and store the hydraulic lift gate system. This job may include operation of other BiRite Vehicles such as a panel or passenger van as directed by the needs of the business. A CA drivers license and clean driving record are conditions of employment and failure to produce either upon request is grounds for termination.
